Seagrave Village Primary School

Currently we’re working on a project for Seagrave Village Primary School. After going on site and doing a site survey we came back to the office and put a design scheme together for a new classroom to be built at the rear of the existing school. Now we’ve obtained planning permission, works have began and the foundations for the new classroom have been made.

We’re very excited to see the finished product… keep posted for more updates and the progress on this project!

Work Experience

This week we’ve had young Harry in the office learning the ins and outs of a fully functioning architectural office. This is how he described his first day with us…

I started my work experience on Wednesday 14th and went on site to a large commercial project where we needed to measure all dimensions of the project internally and externally.

Jon taught me how to use the theodolite in order for a drawing to be produced of the building in context and the exterior land surrounding the property. It was a really good day out and I learnt a lot, such as recording angles and measurements onto a floor plan for each floor of the property and the exterior measurements, we did this by using a laser measurer.

Overall I really enjoyed my experience surveying a property as an architect and now I feel clear that architecture is the career I would like to pursue. I would like to say a big thank you to The Art of Building team for giving me this great opportunity.

Harry, it’s been a pleasure to have you on board!

Progression of Building Works for New Build Residential Dwellings

Currently at The Art of Building we have several projects which are undergoing construction. It’s nice to be able to note the progress of some of the more local projects.

It’s been exciting to see the progress that has been made at Carlton over the last 4 weeks. Check out the pics below and compare with our blog post on 08/07/13 to really see the difference!!
